The Institute for Regional Development actively participated in a project called Internships for Young People under 30 Years of Age in the Moravian-Silesian Region. An office worker has been employed for one year (from April 1st, 2014 to March 31st, 2015) within the Bruntál Europe Direct Centre under the project scheme.
The aim of the project was to help the participants in the target group, through a set of follow-up activities, to help their career start faster.
Project Goals
The main objective of the project was to integrate young people under 30 years of age into the labour market. Other objectives of the project included:
• Providing the target group with professional skills and knowledge for the performance of a specific profession through practical learning and ensuring quality and long-term employment (even after the end of the project support);
• Preventing re-registration of the target group at the Labour Office and thus reducing the average period of registration of young jobseekers at the Labour Office,
• Providing counseling and qualification enhancement through retraining,
• Overcoming and eliminating qualifying and social barriers and barriers to activation and motivation to seek and retain employment.
Target groups
The target group of the project were registered (unemployed) job seekers up to 30 years of age, with any type of education, with none or minimum previous work experience (i.e. maximum of 2 years of practice), persons motivated to take part in practical learning and to gain long-term employment.
