Social inclusion
The aim of activities in the social field is primarily to integrate socially disadvantaged people into the majority society, to eliminate all types of discrimination and to maintain equal opportunities not only on the labour market. In many areas, social activities correlate with education projects, but this area can encompass much broader issues.
Support for employment and human resources development
Active employment policy is one of the main priorities of the European Union and the Czech Republic. The main axes of active employment policy include:
- balance between supply and demand for labour,
- productive use of labour resources; and
- safeguarding citizens’ right to employment.
There is a wide range of priorities for human resource development and employment, but the aim is to create a modern, balanced society that is able to maximise the potential of a quality workforce and, where necessary, provide protection and assistance from the consequences of negative social events for all members of society. The second pillar of the Human Resources and Employment area, not only at the level of the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs, is social inclusion projects, i.e. the integration of socially excluded people back into society. The main instrument in both cases is the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme, which within its axes provides a broad thematic platform for projects mainly in the areas of employment support, social inclusion, adaptability, increasing the efficiency of human resources management, international cooperation, etc.
Another thematic pillar is activities in the area of reconciliation of work and family life. This issue is not currently an institutional priority, and therefore provides a supporting theme for the use of Structural Fund subsidies.
Experts involved in the network of the Institute for Regional Development have experience in this area with the following programmes:
European Social Fund – Operational Programme Human Resources and Employment is aimed at supporting active employment policy, vocational training, inclusion of socially excluded population back into society, as well as supporting the improvement of the quality of public administration and establishing international cooperation in the mentioned areas.
European Social Fund – Operational Programme Prague Adaptability whose main objective is to strengthen the performance of human resources, improve access to employment and combat social exclusion, all in the territory of the capital city of Prague.
The European Social Fund – Operational Programme Education for Competitiveness focuses on the development of education in all areas, with an emphasis on supporting lifelong learning.
Progress – is a programme to support the European Union’s objectives in the field of employment, equal opportunities and social affairs.
