On January 25th-27th 2013 the kick-off meeting of the project “Visegrad Wine Route” was held in Svidnik, Slovakia. The project will be implemented in the first semester of 2013 and is co-funded by the International Visegrad Fund in the framework of the standard grants scheme. The project partners are: Institute for United Europe (Poland), Citizens Association MOHYLA (Slovakia), Podkarpacie Winegrowers Association (Poland), Institute for Regional Development (Czech Rep.), Pécs-Mecsek Wineroad P.B.O. (Hungary).The aim of the “Visegrad Wine Route” is to contribute to make the business of small and medium winegrowers from the V4 countries sustainable in the long run by enhancing their capacity to increase sales and diversify income through cooperation in the field of wine tourism. The project will lead to the establishment of a cross-border tourist product called “Visegrad Wine Route” by creating the first elements needed to launch it as the basis for further development of cooperation, i.e.:
– a joint logo, slogan and layout;
– a joint website in English;
– a promotional brochure in English;
– a study tour for tour operators specialised in wine tourism and/or regional tourism (May 12th-17th 2013).
The partners have committed to further development of the network and cooperation after the end of the project.
